The Cleveland Indians were trying to beat the Los Angeles Angels for the second straight game but they were unable to do so. The Indians fell just short on Tuesday night by the score of 3-2. All of the scoring came in the first five innings an then bullpens took over and stopped the scoring.
Matt Ginter took the loss for the Tribe and is now 1-1. Ginter didn’t throw the ball too badly as he pitched six innings. He allowed seven hits and three runs with one of those hits being a solo home run that proved to be the game winner in the 5th inning.
Rafael Betancourt and Juan Rincon pitched the 7th and 8th innings and did not have any problems.
Grady Sizemore got the Indians on the plate in the first inning with a solo home run that he hit off of Jered Weaver. Franklin Gutierrez had the Indians second and final run of the game on a rbi triple that scored Kelly Shoppach in the 2nd inning. The bats were held to those two runs as they did not score again the in the final seven innings of the game.
The Tribe can still win the series on the road if they can beat the Halos on Wednesday afternoon.
