The Cleveland Indians got two rbi’s each from Jhonny Peralta and Shin-Soo Choo as they beat the Minnesota Twins by the score of 6-4. The Indians are playing spoilers right now against the Twins as they just can’t get over the hump and catch the Chicago White Sox.

Victor Martinez and Travis Hafner each had one rbi each as well for the Indians.

On the mound it was Cliff Lee starting the game and throwing 6 1/3 innings. Lee was charged with ten hits and four runs as he wasn’t his usual self on Wednesday night. Lee walked three batters while striking out five and giving up one home run.

Edward Mujica ended up picking up the inning as he recorded the final two outs in the seventh inning. Jensen Lewis picked up his 10th save of the season in the ninth inning.

It was a big offensive night for the Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles as the two teams combined to score 17 runs and pound out 30 hits. The Bad news for the Tribe was the Orioles used a eight run eighth inning to win the game. The Indians did score three runs in the final inning to make things interesting but they just could’t come out of the big hole completely and the Orioles won 11-6

Rafael Perez took the loss as he was charged with three hits and four runs while not recording an out. Edward Mujica also gave up three hits and four runs in the eighth inning as he couldn’t stop the bleeding. Indians starting pitcher Zach Jackson gave up eight hits and three runs over five innings as he got the no decision.

Shin-Soo Choo led the Tribe at the plate with two rbi as he had a two run double in the first inning. Franklin Gutierrez, Kelly Shoppach, Ryan Garko, and Asdrubal Cabrera all helped out with one rbi each but it wasn’t even close to being enough.

The Indians now have a tough weekend ahead of them as they have to play the Los Angeles Angels. I don’t see good things happening in this series.

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Jeremy Sowers only lasted three innings as he gave up eight runs on Monday night. Sowers put the Indians in a big hole against the Chicago White Sox and they went on to lose the game by the score of 9-7. Your starting pitcher has to pitch better than that to give your team a chance in the game.

Tom Mastny gave up one run while pitching three innings of relief. Edward Mujica and Joe Borowski both threw scoreless innings in the game.

The Indians did make things interesting in the ninth inning as they scored three runs but still lost the game by two runs. Jhonny Peralta led the Indians with a solo home run and three total rbi in the game. Shin-Soo Choo had two rbi, Jamey Carroll and David Dellucci both chipped in with one rbi each.

I do like the Indians chances on Tuesday night however. Cliff Lee will take the mound against the White Sox starter John Danks.

The Cleveland Indians brought out the whooping sticks on Thursday night as they hammered the Minnesota Twins 12-2. The victory over the Twins was the second for the Indians in the three game series. That is all you can hope for right now is that the Indians keep on winning each series.

Indians starting pitcher Aaron Laffey tossed the first six innings of the game and only gave up five hits and one run. The one run was a solo home run in the fifth inning so he pitched a pretty good game overall. Edward Mujica allowed one run in relief and then Masa Kobayashi finished things off in the ninth inning.

Shin-Soo Choo hit a three run home run and Grady Sizemore connected on a solo home run to provide two big hits for the Indians. Ben Francisco also had a big game as he finished with three rbi. Jhonny Peralta and Kelly Shoppach both had two rbi as well. Three was a lot of production up and down the lineup and that happens when you score 12 runs in a baseball game.

Great way to finish off the series and and get ready for the San Diego Padres!

Things looked very good for the Cleveland Indians after they scored four runs in the top of the first inning but after that everything went down hill for them as they lost to the Texas Rangers 9-4. Pretty dissapointing game as you come out of the gates and score four quick runs, but then have trouble the next eight inning and don’t score one run. Something is wrong there if you ask me.

C.C. Sabathia took the loss and is now 3-8 on the season. Sabathia gave up nine hits, five runs (four earned, three walks, and struckout eight batters. Rafael Betancourt allowed three runs while only lasting 2/3 of an inning. Edward Mujica then came in and gave up another run in 1 1/3 innings of action. All three pitchers had trouble as you can tell.

The first inning is really all there is to blog about for the offense. David Dellucci had a two run double while Victor Martinez had a rbi single and Jhonny Peralta had a rbi double. I really thought the Indians would get some more runs as the game went on, but Kevin Millwood figured things out and shut them down the rest of the game.

The Cleveland Indians scored seven runs on Tuesday night but the bad news was that the Texas Rangers actually scored 12 runs. The Indians made things interesting in the seventh and eighth innings but then the Rangers answered back with three runs of their own in the eighth inning.

Tom Mastny was absolutely rocked as he only lasted 1 1/3 innings as he gave up six hits and five runs. Mastny gave up two home runs in the game as he pitcher terribly.

The Indians bullpen wasn’t much better however. Jensen Lewis, Edward Mujica, and Rafael Perez, all gave up two runs each in the game. Scott Elarton also gave up one run. Just a bad performance by everyone that pitched for the Indians.

Shin-Soo Choo had a two run double in the seventh inning and then a solo home run in the ninth inning to lead the Indians with three rbi at the plate. Ben Francisco, Ryan Garko, and Jhonny Peralta all helped out with one rbi each but it wasn’t enough for the Indians.
