The Cleveland Indians and all sorts of problems on Tuesday night as they were hammered by the Colorado Rockies 10-2.  The Indians bats were silent for most of the game as they only put two runs up on the scoreboard against three different Rockies pitchers.  So much for that thin air and the long balls at Coors Field.

Greg Reynolds shut the Indians bats down for the most part.  The Indians got a rbi in the fifth inning off a Casey Blake sacrafice fly and then a another rbi on a sacrafice fly in the eighth inning off the bat of Ryan Garko.  That was all the Tribe could get going which wasn’t much.

Paul Byrd was only able to pitch four innings before he was taken out of the game.  Byrd gave up nine hits and five runs in his four innings of action to take the loss.  He is now 3-7 on the year with a 5.21 era.  Scott Elarton pitched the next two innings and gave up four hits and two runs.  Once Elarton was removed from the game it was Rick Bauer giving up four hits and three runs over two innings of action.  As you can tell, the Indians pitching staff was just as bad as the offense was.

Hopefully things will turn around on Wendesday for the Indians and they can pick up a win in Denver against the Rockies.
